Job Summary
As a full-time remote M&A and Accounting Policy Manager, the successful candidate will manage the accounting processes throughout the M&A lifecycle, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close integration, while evolving accounting policies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial due diligence on target companies, assessing quality of earnings and identifying accounting risks
- Own purchase accounting for acquisitions under ASC 805, including purchase price allocation and goodwill calculations
- Drive accounting treatment for strategic investments under ASC 321, ASC 323, and ASC 810, and ensure compliance with SOX controls
Required qualifications
- 9+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and industry experience; CPA required
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly M&A accounting (ASC 805) and investment accounting (ASC 321, ASC 323)
- Experience leading financial due diligence and managing external consultants across M&A workstreams
- Ability to draft technical accounting memos and financial statement disclosures for cross-functional stakeholders
- Familiarity with utilizing generative AI responsibly in accounting processes
