Job Summary
Leading external and program audits, the full-time salaried CPA Senior Director of Audits will ensure financial integrity and compliance while managing relationships with auditors and regulatory agencies, with the option to work remotely or from one of several U.S. offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of annual external financial statement audits and manage relationships with independent auditors
- Direct program audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements
- Manage the preparation and filing of IRS Form 990, ensuring accuracy and compliance with nonprofit tax regulations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of progressive accounting, audit, and nonprofit compliance experience
- Experience in a large nonprofit with complex funding structures required
- CPA certification is required; advanced degree preferred
- Significant experience managing nonprofit external audits and IRS Form 990 filings
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards, Uniform Guidance, and regulatory requirements
