CPA Transaction Accountant
Job Summary
Managing post-close accounting for acquisitions, the full-time CPA Transaction Accountant will lead ASC 805 purchase accounting and Opening Balance Sheet preparation for PE-backed portfolio companies, ensuring audit-ready financial records while collaborating with finance teams and valuation specialists, with opportunities for remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Lead purchase price allocation execution and prepare Opening Balance Sheet bridges for acquisitions and divestitures
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues and collaborate with controllers and auditors for accurate financial reporting
- Manage multiple workstreams independently, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, audit-ready documentation
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Big 4 FAAS/Deals or in-house technical accounting with expertise in ASC 805 purchase accounting
- Proven track record in leading purchase price allocation and Opening Balance Sheet preparation
- Active or eligible CPA designation preferred
- Strong command of US GAAP related to business combinations and familiarity with valuation concepts
- Proficient in Excel and financial modeling, with experience navigating ERP systems
