CPC Certified Cardiology Coder
Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote CPC Certified Cardiology Coder will provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient and emergency room medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems while mentoring new coders and maintaining current coding knowledge.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for coding
- Abstract information from medical records according to client guidelines and clarify ambiguous documentation with physicians
- Mentor and educate new coders, ensuring adherence to coding principles and guidelines
Required qualifications
- CPC certification is required
- A minimum of 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience
- Proficiency in coding Clinic E&M and CPTs
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines
- Experience with Epic/3M 360 coding systems
