Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder - Physician Practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management codes, minor surgical procedures, and HCPCS codes from provider documentation
• Research coding/billing issues and recommend appropriate methods for physicians
• Analyze medical records to ensure appropriate coding and identify potential patterns of abuse

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of records coding experience or equivalent education (completion of AAPC course or trade school coding program)
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/Medical terminology required
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification required or must obtain within six months of hire
• Previous experience with an electronic legal health record system preferred
