CPC Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Independently coding complex professional encounters, the full-time Professional Coding Specialist II will perform coding across multiple specialties and settings, ensuring compliance and supporting reimbursement processes while working remotely from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Code complex professional encounters and procedures, ensuring correct sequencing and documentation alignment
• Resolve coding-related edits and denials by identifying root causes and coordinating documentation clarification
• Provide real-time guidance to peers on standard coding scenarios and participate in internal quality review programs

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• At least 3 years of experience in physician/provider coding required
• CPC or CCS-P certification required
• Proficiency in Epic professional coding work queues and encoder tools
• Working knowledge of risk adjustment concepts and HCC validation
