Job Summary
To enhance the quality and accuracy of clinical documentation, the Clinical Documentation Educator, a part-time remote position, will support educational activities and collaborate with healthcare professionals while holding a CPC and/or CCS-P certification.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate educational sessions for physicians and clinicians to improve clinical documentation practices
- Prepare and present training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, to enhance understanding of coding and compliance
- Conduct audits of clinical documentation to ensure adherence to compliance guidelines and coding standards
Required qualifications
- CPC and/or CCS-P certification required; nursing or compliance certification is a plus
- Experience in physician coding and compliance, particularly in Evaluation and Management services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Previous experience in auditing and coding of clinical documentation
- Bachelor's degree preferred; an Associate's degree in Nursing or a relevant field is also considered
