CPC Certified Documentation Educator

Job Summary

To enhance the quality and accuracy of clinical documentation, the Clinical Documentation Educator, a part-time remote position, will support educational activities and collaborate with healthcare professionals while holding a CPC and/or CCS-P certification.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate educational sessions for physicians and clinicians to improve clinical documentation practices
• Prepare and present training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, to enhance understanding of coding and compliance
• Conduct audits of clinical documentation to ensure adherence to compliance guidelines and coding standards

Required qualifications

• CPC and/or CCS-P certification required; nursing or compliance certification is a plus
• Experience in physician coding and compliance, particularly in Evaluation and Management services
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
• Previous experience in auditing and coding of clinical documentation
• Bachelor's degree preferred; an Associate's degree in Nursing or a relevant field is also considered
