CPC Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote CPC Certified Medical Coder will provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient, physician, or emergency room medical records using ICD 10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems while ensuring compliance with established guidelines and maintaining productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accurate coding and DRG assignment
• Maintain coding accuracy and meet productivity requirements while entering coded charts in real-time
• Participate in team meetings, training, and industry forums to support coding education and stay updated on coding guidelines

Required qualifications

• CPC certification is mandatory
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience coding Profee Surgery charts
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding principles and guidelines
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and reimbursement systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
