CPC Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To ensure accurate reimbursement capture, the full-time remote CPC Certified Medical Coder will assign diagnostic and procedure codes to medical records, maintain coding accuracy, and collaborate with clinical staff for documentation clarification.

Key responsibilities

• Organizes and prioritizes work to complete coding assignments within deadlines, reviewing charts and medical records
• Utilizes ICD-10-CM and CPT classification systems to assign codes, maintaining a coding accuracy of 90% or better
• Maintains positive relationships with providers and mentors other coders while participating in coding policy development

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 1 year of experience in ICD Coding within a medical practice (Preferred)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) certification from AAPC (Required)
