CPC Certified Medical Coder

Job Summary

To gain hands-on experience in a medical coding environment, a CPC Certified Medical Coder will work remotely as a Medical Coding Assistant, responsible for reconciling electronic professional charges, reviewing missed charges, and performing basic coding reviews and data entry.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile electronic professional charges for assigned departments through various schedules and reports
• Complete monthly examinations of missing charges reports and validate charges as assigned
• Review missed charges and collaborate with coding staff to resolve billing issues, ensuring all EMR charges are accounted for

Required qualifications

• CPC certification and completion of an accredited coding program
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Proficiency with MS Office products and high-level data entry skills
• Familiarity with medical insurance billing, medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding preferred
