CPC Certified Senior Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a motivated and experienced CPC Certified Senior Coder with over 5 years of Surgical Cardiology coding experience, this full-time remote position will analyze medical records, assign appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes, and provide training and mentorship to new coders.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines
• Abstract clinical diagnoses and procedure codes from medical records for electronic documentation
• Provide quality assurance for medical records, ensuring compliance with coding rules and regulations

Required qualifications

• Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification with a minimum of 5 years of complex coding experience in Surgical Cardiology
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent specialized training in medical record keeping
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while maintaining high-quality performance outcomes
• Experience with coding software and abstracting systems
