Job Summary

To enhance revenues for surgical specialty departments, the remote Surgical Coding Denial Specialist will resolve insurance claim denials by generating effective written appeals and utilizing various resources while maintaining a high volume of work quality.

Key responsibilities

• Appeal denials through coding review, contract review, medical record review, and carrier interaction
• Demonstrate expertise in managing complicated denied claims and communicate denial patterns to management
• Prioritize and process a large volume of denials while assisting in training new employees as assigned

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in medical practice billing with exposure to denials, appeals, and insurance collections
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred
• CPC certification is required
• ICD-10 and CPT coding assessment skills
• Surgery experience is highly preferred
