CPC Coder for Outpatient Services

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Part-Time Facility/Profee Outpatient: Ancillary, Clinic, and ED Medical Coder to work remotely, who will review medical records, assign diagnostic and procedural codes, and ensure accurate coding for emergency room accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for emergency room encounters
• Assign principal and secondary CPT codes and appropriate modifiers based on established guidelines
• Participate in Coding Roundtables and maintain current knowledge of coding standards and regulations

Required qualifications

• CPC and COC coding credentials
• Over 3 years of experience coding Facility-HB and Profee PB charts for Outpatient services
• Experience with coding Ancillary, Clinic, and Emergency Department encounters
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding principles
• A passing score on coding proficiency tests is required
