CPC Medical Coder - Georgia

Job Summary

To support Orthopedics and Podiatry Services, the remote Medical Coder - Georgia will assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and coding guidelines while managing work queues and generating coding queries as needed.

Key responsibilities:

• Assigns accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes for outpatient hospital professional accounts
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging and coding of records
• Stays updated on changes in coding conventions and generates queries for clarification on physician documentation

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Professional CPC coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC, maintained annually
• 5+ years of pro-fee coding experience in Orthopedics and podiatry services
• Intermediate knowledge of Medicare guidelines and modifiers
• Intermediate experience with Epic and handling coding denials
