CPT ICD 10 Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist (CPT / HCPCS / ICD 10).

Key Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation to abstract, assign, and enter accurate ICD 10, CPT, and HCPCS codes into the electronic health record (EHR) system
• Perform medical chart reviews to identify, validate, and correct missed or inaccurate HCC codes in accordance with risk adjustment requirements
• Collaborate with providers to obtain clarification and provide feedback to resolve coding discrepancies

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 0-2 years of coding experience in a healthcare or clinical setting
• Experience with medical chart review and provider documentation preferred
• Working knowledge of ICD 10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
• Familiarity with HCC coding concepts and medical chart abstraction
