Job Summary
To support VHA healthcare operations, the full-time Consultant - Credentialing and Privileging will manage credentialing and compliance initiatives, focusing on verification accuracy and lifecycle management of provider credentials while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Support and recommend VHA credentialing and privileging processes, including verification and compliance validation
- Analyze workflows to identify gaps and inefficiencies in credentialing and Delegation of Work (DOW) processes
- Develop and maintain SOPs, documentation, and audit-ready materials while ensuring compliance with established standards
Required qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in consulting, healthcare operations, or physician credentialing and privileging; federal healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with VHA credentialing and privileging processes required
- Proficiency with physician credentialing databases and systems, including CAQH, NPDB, and credentialing platforms such as VetPro
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
- Understanding of Delegation of Work (DOW) authorities and compliance standards
