Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Credentialing Coordinator will manage the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for hospital-employed physicians and ancillary providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Initiates and processes credentialing applications, including primary source verification and ongoing monitoring of licenses and certifications
- Maintains and audits the credentialing database and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Joint Commission and NCQA standards
- Acts as a liaison with health plans to minimize credentialing lag times and assists in the development of policies and procedures related to credentialing
Required qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Health Services or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a hospital or multi-entity credentialing environment
- Knowledge of credentialing principles and current regulations, including Joint Commission and NCQA standards
- Intermediate computer skills with experience in credentialing software and information systems
- Continuing education in federal and regulatory requirements related to credentialing as necessary
