Job Summary
To support the credentialing process, the full-time Credentialing Coordinator will manage application submissions, maintain an accurate physician database, and assist in training new team members while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitates the completion of initial and re-credentialing applications by collecting necessary documentation and communicating with applicants
- Maintains the physician database and performs file audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with credentialing policies
- Assists in the training and orientation of new team members and participates in process improvement activities
Required qualifications
- Two years of post-high school education, training, or experience; an associate degree in health administration or a related field is preferred
- One year of work experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of hospital settings and managed care organizations
- Understanding of NCQA and TJC standards, NPDB guidelines, and general licensing regulations
- Experience with database organization and management, as well as proficiency in Windows-based word processing software
- Current CPCS and/or CPMSM eligibility by the National Association Medical Staff Services is preferred but not required
