Credentialing Specialist

Job Summary

Maintaining accurate records of providers' credentials, the remote Facility Credentialing Specialist II will process applications for privileges and reappointments while monitoring licensure renewals for Physicians, CRNAs, APRNs, and PAs.

Key responsibilities

• Processes initial and reappointment assignments for hospitals and surgical centers
• Maintains complete files of provider licensure and credentials, including monitoring renewals
• Updates the credentialing database with demographic and licensure information, as well as continuing education credits

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; AS or B.S. degree in business administration or healthcare-related field is a plus
• 2-3 years of credentialing experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and database administration
• Knowledge of NCQA and/or Joint Commission Accreditation standards
• Familiarity with Federal and State Regulations on confidentiality and peer review guidelines
