Credentialing Specialist II

Job Summary

To support the credentialing process for healthcare providers, the remote Facility Credentialing Specialist II will manage applications for privileges and reappointments, maintain accurate provider records, and monitor licensure renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Processes initial and reappointment assignments for hospitals and surgical centers
• Maintains complete files of provider licensure and credentials, monitoring renewals and forwarding copies to facilities
• Updates and maintains the credentialing database, including demographic, licensure information, and continuing medical education credits

Required qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; AS or B.S. degree in business administration or healthcare-related field is a plus
• 2-3 years of credentialing experience preferred, with knowledge of organizational policies and procedures
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and database administration
• Familiarity with NCQA and/or Joint Commission Accreditation standards
• Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations on Confidentiality and Peer Review Guidelines
