Credit Balance Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Credit Balance Specialist will analyze and resolve credit balances on professional billing accounts, utilizing various software applications and ensuring compliance with billing guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze credit balances to determine causes and facilitate account resolutions, including posting refunds as needed
• Utilize software applications and payer websites to collect supporting documentation for credit balance accounts
• Monitor trends in credit balances and report findings to management while maintaining financial reporting

Required qualifications

• Medical insurance experience
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Data entry skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
• Ability to work in multiple computer systems
