Credit Underwriting Team Lead

Job Summary

Supporting the underwriting manager, the full-time remote Credit Underwriting Team Lead will manage workflow, review underwriting pipeline reports, mentor team members, and ensure compliance with quality and production standards while underwriting complex transactions.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage workflow and handle escalations while reviewing daily underwriting pipeline reports
• Mentor team members and provide training for new hires, ensuring adherence to quality standards
• Underwrite complex transactions and communicate credit decisions effectively to loan officers and processors

Required qualifications:

• Experience in underwriting with knowledge of VA, FHA, Agency, Non-agency, and Community lending policies
• Ability to underwrite transactions up to $2.5MM
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and training team members
• Understanding of risk management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
