Criminal Research Specialist

Job Summary

Conducting thorough research into individuals' criminal histories, the full-time Criminal Research Specialist will perform criminal record research, review database results, and compile consumer reports while working remotely within EST hours.

Key responsibilities

• Review database search results to determine additional names or searches needed
• Perform criminal record research through court access systems and public records, contacting courts as necessary
• Compile accurate consumer reports and ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field, or equivalent experience in criminal records research
• Previous experience in background screening or related industry
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. criminal justice system and ability to interpret court cases
• Familiarity with FCRA and state regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based research tools
