Job Summary

Providing immediate support to individuals in emotional distress, the full-time Crisis Support Specialist will respond to crisis calls, texts, and chats, conducting risk assessments and facilitating safety planning in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Screen and assess individuals and families in crisis through calls, chats, or texts, while coordinating with mobile crisis providers and emergency responders as needed
  • Complete follow-up calls post-crisis to ensure connections to community resources
  • Meet key performance indicators and service standards while participating in training and supervision as assigned
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma plus four years of experience in social work, mental health, or a related field, or an associate's degree plus two years of experience
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention resources to individuals in emotional distress
  • Strong sense of empathy and ability to maintain ethical boundaries in high-stress environments
  • Typing skills of at least 40 words per minute
  • Willingness to complete over 200 hours of training covering various aspects of crisis intervention and mental health issues
