Critical Operations Engineer II

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Critical Operations Engineer II will ensure operational integrity and regulatory compliance of data center systems, focusing on electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure while collaborating closely with the Data Center Manager to maximize customer uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain data center systems, responding to abnormal conditions in electrical, mechanical, and communications areas
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, ensuring data center efficiency and cost reduction
• Provide technical expertise in fire and electrical codes, and assist with technical writing for maintenance procedures

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities, preferably in a data center
• Expert knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including chilled water systems and UPS systems
• Proven leadership skills and experience in troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems
• Ability to pass an extensive background check and meet physical demands of the role
