Customer Data Scientist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Customer Data Scientist will optimize and tune AML and fraud detection models for clients, directly engaging with customers to present findings and defend methodologies while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Tune and optimize detection models and thresholds based on live transaction data to balance effectiveness and false positives
• Investigate detection performance, analyzing missed cases and alert quality to implement tuning or configuration changes
• Translate technical findings into customer-facing insights that demonstrate productivity gains and detection improvements

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a data scientist in a customer-facing role, particularly in AML or fraud detection
• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and relevant ML tools in production environments
• Strong understanding of transaction monitoring and the implications of false positives in financial crime analytics
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders
• Ownership mentality with a proactive approach to monitoring account performance and addressing issues
