Cyber Countermeasures Team Lead

Job Summary

Leading a dedicated Cyber Countermeasures function, the full-time remote Cyber Countermeasures Team Lead will manage a team focused on building and maintaining proactive defenses against threat actor activity, collaborating closely with various cybersecurity teams to enhance detection and response capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of countermeasures engineers and analysts, measuring performance and creating growth opportunities
• Serve as the subject matter expert in detection engineering and cyber countermeasures, optimizing use cases and analytics across multiple platforms
• Collaborate with Security Operations and Incident Response teams to ensure actionable and continuously improved countermeasures

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in detection engineering or cyber defense countermeasures
• 3+ years of experience in people management or team leadership
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and deception technologies
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics effectively to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Preferred certifications include GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI), GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM), OSCP/OSEP, or CISSP
