Cyber Security Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Portfolio, the full-time remote Cyber Security Analyst will manage cybersecurity efforts across multiple projects, ensuring system security certification and accreditation, and developing security-related artifacts.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead security and privacy activities within project teams while developing related artifacts
• Review and identify system/application security controls in accordance with NIST SP-800 53 Rev 4 guidance
• Support Application development/maintenance and IT operations using Agile practices

Required qualifications

• 15 years of experience in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields; 10 additional years can substitute for the degree requirement
• Experience achieving an Authority to Operate (ATO) for projects within the VA or other Federal Agencies
• Strong understanding of FISMA, NIST-800-53 guidance, HIPAA, and HITECH Act
• Security+ certification or other applicable security certifications
• Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
