Cyber Security Incident Response Specialist

Job Summary

To lead the containment and resolution of advanced security incidents, the full-time Cyber Security Incident Response Specialist will leverage expertise in digital forensics and incident handling while working remotely to coordinate cross-functional response efforts and perform forensic analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced digital forensics and incident analysis to determine the root cause and impact of security breaches
• Act as the primary technical incident commander during major security events, coordinating communication and updates
• Develop and optimize incident response playbooks and conduct tabletop simulation exercises to ensure organizational readiness

Required qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of IT or Information Security experience, including 3+ years in Digital Forensics and Incident Response
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and other threat modeling frameworks preferred
• Experience in scripting and automation, such as Python or PowerShell, for security operations preferred
• Industry-recognized cyber security training or certifications from SANS, ISC2, EC-Council, or CompTIA preferred
