Cybersecurity Automation Engineer

Job Summary

To support a Cybersecurity Technology Services team, the contract Cybersecurity Programmer / Security Automation Engineer will develop automation scripts, integrate security platforms, and enhance cloud security operations, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go for cybersecurity operations and policy enforcement
• Build and maintain integrations with security platform APIs, including Microsoft Defender and Palo Alto Networks
• Automate security remediation workflows and support SOAR integrations to enhance incident response capabilities

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered
• 1-5 years of experience in programming, cybersecurity engineering, or security automation
• Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages, including Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender APIs and Palo Alto Networks APIs
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP security APIs
