Job Summary
To enhance cybersecurity measures, the full-time Cybersecurity Engineer will manage and optimize cybersecurity tools, guide policy decisions, and lead security testing initiatives in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, troubleshoot, and tune cybersecurity tools and sensors for effective security operations
- Select, deploy, and optimize on-premises and cloud-based environments to ensure infrastructure visibility and secure data retention
- Lead the design and execution of security tests to evaluate the effectiveness of cybersecurity strategies and tools
Required qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years of experience in a related field
- Experience with Splunk administration and the ability to obtain a DOE L/Q Security Clearance
- Strong background in security engineering, including tool selection, installation, and maintenance
- Intermediate scripting/programming skills, preferably in Python, to support security orchestration and automation
- Subject matter expertise in cybersecurity concepts and threats, with experience managing network and host-based security tools
