Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Cybersecurity Engineer, the candidate will develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain security posture for systems within the Advanced Computing Operations group, ensuring information security across various applications and data-sharing platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and harden security controls across heterogeneous environments and verify enforcement
• Script and automate security tasks using Bash and Python to meet control requirements
• Monitor vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation efforts with engineering teams across multiple platforms

Required qualifications

• Relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience
• UNIX/Linux experience (administration and troubleshooting)
• Ability to script and automate with Bash and Python
• Basic knowledge of security tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners)
• Clearance eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security Clearance
