Job Summary

To support a Department of Veterans Affairs project, the full-time remote Cybersecurity Engineer with CISSP will identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks, maintain a strong information system security posture, and provide expertise in NIST Risk Management Framework and security controls.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide cybersecurity consulting and technical support for ATO and NIST RMF activities
  • Lead and coordinate security and privacy activities, developing required RMF security artifacts
  • Conduct security risk assessments and analyze authorization packages to identify gaps and remediation plans
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of information security experience, including 3 years in cybersecurity and cloud security for a large government agency
  • Strong experience with NIST RMF, ATO, and security authorization activities
  • ISC2 CISSP certification is required
  • Experience with security assessment tools such as Tenable Nessus and Nmap
