Job Summary
To support a Department of Veterans Affairs project, the full-time remote Cybersecurity Engineer with CISSP will identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks, maintain a strong information system security posture, and provide expertise in NIST Risk Management Framework and security controls.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide cybersecurity consulting and technical support for ATO and NIST RMF activities
- Lead and coordinate security and privacy activities, developing required RMF security artifacts
- Conduct security risk assessments and analyze authorization packages to identify gaps and remediation plans
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of information security experience, including 3 years in cybersecurity and cloud security for a large government agency
- Strong experience with NIST RMF, ATO, and security authorization activities
- ISC2 CISSP certification is required
- Experience with security assessment tools such as Tenable Nessus and Nmap
