Cybersecurity Validation Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the full-time Cybersecurity Validation Engineer will conduct cybersecurity control validation, security assessments, and compliance activities for enterprise applications and systems while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct cybersecurity control validation and security assessment activities for enterprise applications, systems, and environments
- Evaluate implemented security controls for effectiveness and compliance with DoD and federal cybersecurity requirements
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, security authorization efforts, and cybersecurity compliance initiatives
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity assessment, control validation, compliance, or related security functions
- 3+ years of experience with DoD 8500-series guidance, NIST SP 800-53, and RMF principles
- 2+ years of experience supporting eMASS activities
- Experience conducting security assessments and vulnerability assessments
- Knowledge of network security concepts and security control implementation
