Cytogenetic Analyst (FISH)

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time remote Cytogenetic Analyst (FISH) will perform FISH analysis and cytogenetic analysis of computerized images, ensuring accurate reporting of test results while collaborating with supervisors on protocol development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform FISH analysis and cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads using computerized images
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature and distinguish between normal and abnormal results
• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment and software to maintain functionality and report issues to supervisors

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
• At least 1 year of experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
