Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time remote Cytogenetic Analyst (FISH) will perform FISH analysis and cytogenetic analysis of computerized images, ensuring accurate reporting of test results while collaborating with supervisors on protocol development.
Key responsibilities
- Perform FISH analysis and cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads using computerized images
- Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature and distinguish between normal and abnormal results
- Monitor and troubleshoot equipment and software to maintain functionality and report issues to supervisors
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
- At least 1 year of experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
