Job Summary

A company is looking for a Specialty Cytogenetic Technologist.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture images and prepare karyograms for analysis of chromosomal defects
• Perform specimen harvesting, slide preparation, and various cytogenetic testing techniques
• Assist with training and maintain records of culture initiation and growth

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry
• Minimum of three years of clinical cytogenetics lab experience
• Certification as a Technologist in Cytogenetics by the Board of Certification of the American Society for Clinical Pathologists
• Must maintain certification through continuing education credits
• Successful completion of required competencies by the department/unit
