Cytogenetics Technologist
Job Summary
To support a growing oncology team, the full-time remote Cytogenetics Technologist will perform chromosome analysis, including imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens, while utilizing specialized software for FISH analysis.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of chromosomes, including imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
- Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis and summarize test results using ISCN nomenclature
- Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results, while documenting troubleshooting and corrective actions as needed
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 3 years of experience in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory
- 2 years of experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
- 2 years of experience in Oncology cytogenetics
