Cytogenetics Technologist - CT
Job Summary
Supporting daily laboratory operations remotely, the full-time Cytogenetics Technologist - CT will perform high-quality FISH analysis, technical review, and workflow coordination while ensuring excellence in quality and turnaround time performance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine procedures including tissue culture, FISH processing, and automated karyotyping
- Determine specimen acceptability for testing and report accurate test results
- Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience or a Bachelor's in Cytogenetics
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment
- Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
