Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated Data Center Acoustician / Acoustic Modeling Lead for a remote contract position, this role will manage campus-level acoustic planning, design, and modeling, acting as the key Subject Matter Expert for sound control across mission-critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in campus planning sessions to guide site selection, design, and equipment layout for minimizing environmental noise impacts
- Evaluate consultant-led noise models and reports to ensure compliance with local zoning laws and global standards, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies
- Design and refine sound attenuation solutions while developing and maintaining program documentation, including modeling standards and vendor requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in acoustic modeling
- Strong understanding of sound attenuation and mitigation systems for large-scale cooling and diesel generator equipment
- Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards
- Familiarity with CadnaA or SoundPLAN
