Job Summary
Assisting with hardware installation and maintenance, the full-time Data Center Technician II will manage tasks such as asset tagging, cabling, and documenting processes in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in the installation, movement, and decommissioning of data center hardware and manage cabling and labeling of devices
- Utilize a standard ticketing system to provide clear and timely communication regarding customer requests
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and work under the direction of supervisors to ensure quality and compliance in all tasks
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with 2 to 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour and effectively utilize ticket management systems
- Experience with CAT5e and CAT6 copper cables, as well as multi-mode and single-mode fiber
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and networking components, including data center best practices
- Physical capability to lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and perform office-related tasks
