Data Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Data Engineer for a two-year contract position, the successful candidate will build and maintain data pipelines from regulatory APIs and public records, design web-based tools for research dissemination, and apply AI technologies to enhance data analysis, all while working flexibly within the U.S.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest information from various sources
• Design and develop web-based tools to make research accessible to communities and advocates
• Create data visualizations and methodologies to support team collaboration and reproducibility

Required qualifications:

• Significant software engineering experience with data structuring and tool development
• Strong programming skills in Python or a comparable language, along with SQL proficiency
• Experience with data ingestion from APIs, web scraping, and document parsing
• Familiarity with building data visualization tools or interactive dashboards
• Demonstrated commitment to clean energy, climate change, and economic justice
