Data Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a dynamic data platform team, the full-time remote Data Engineer will scale and validate the data platform, develop and support real-time automated systems for data lifecycle management, and deploy Infrastructure as Code for data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Scale and validate the data platform to accommodate Ancestry's data growth
• Develop, deploy, and support real-time automated systems for streamlining data lifecycle management
• Implement Infrastructure as Code to establish the infrastructure for data pipelines

Required qualifications

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot in an enterprise environment
• Experience with Big Data ecosystems, including Spark and Kafka
• Proficiency in database technologies like MySQL (Aurora) and Redshift
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure as code tools
