Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support secure data transfers, the contract Data Engineer will manage large-scale data operations, optimize platform performance, and ensure compliance with security standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Completing Globus Connect Server (GCS) deployment and configuring data transfer workflows
• Onboarding research users and providing Tier 1/2 operational support
• Collaborating with internal teams to establish operational processes and support production readiness

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with the Globus platform (GCS v5, endpoints, collections)
• Experience with networking, security, and Zero Trust principles
• Background in Managed File Transfer (MFT) or large-scale data transfer environments
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash)
• Exposure to Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Azure DevOps
