Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the contracted Data Engineer will architect and scale modern data platforms on AWS, build robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and manage the end-to-end data lifecycle while working remotely during New York EST hours.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and scale modern data platforms on AWS, designing and building scalable Spark-based ETL/ELT pipelines
• Own end-to-end data lifecycle management, including ingestion, transformation, modeling, orchestration, and serving layers
• Ensure data quality and governance by implementing testing frameworks, monitoring, and data validation practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field; MS degree preferred
• 5+ years of industry experience in data engineering
• Proficiency with Spark, Scala, Python, DBT, Airflow, and AWS technologies
• Experience with data models and CI/CD practices
• Familiarity with large-scale data handling and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
