Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support ecosystem modeling and measurement initiatives, the remote Data Engineer will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrate diverse datasets, and ensure data quality for production-grade outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ecosystem and biogeochemical modeling
• Develop and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and data storage solutions to support modeling workflows
• Ensure data quality, versioning, and auditability to meet measurement, reporting, and verification requirements

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines for complex datasets
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern data engineering tools
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Familiarity with relational and spatial databases, including PostgreSQL and PostGIS
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Informatics, or a related field
