Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the contracted Data Engineer will architect and scale data platforms on AWS, build robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure data quality while working remotely and ideally aligning with New York EST hours.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and scale modern data platforms on AWS, designing and building scalable Spark-based ETL/ELT pipelines
• Own end-to-end data lifecycle management, including ingestion, transformation, modeling, and orchestration
• Drive platform optimization and cost efficiency while establishing engineering best practices and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer-related field; MS degree preferred
• 5+ years of industry experience in data engineering
• Proficiency with Spark, Scala, Python, DBT, Airflow, AWS services, and CI/CD practices
• Experience in handling large-scale data and collaborating with various business functions
• Experience in Financial Services or FinTech preferred
