Data Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Data Engineer will develop and support robust data solutions for Cornell's data analytic, data warehousing, and data lake ecosystem, collaborating with customers and IT team members while participating in 24/7 on-call support.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and IT team members to create enterprise-grade data lake and data warehouse content
• Support data feeds, transformations, and updates within Cornell's data ecosystem
• Act as a liaison and subject matter expert for project teams requesting data lake and data warehouse resources

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience using SQL, including Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML)
• Development experience with relational database platforms such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server
• Proficiency in Python and experience developing data transformation solutions
• One to two years of related experience in data analysis, data warehouse or data lake design, or report/dashboard development
