Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a long-term contract with a Big 4 consulting firm, the remote Data Engineer will develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise data pipelines and ETL processes, ensuring high-quality data flows for clinical, operational, financial, and health plan analytics, with occasional travel to Albuquerque, NM.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-based ETL processes and data transformations across various platforms including DB2 and AWS
• Define enterprise data engineering architecture and technology standards while ensuring reliable data integration workflows
• Monitor pipeline health, resolve data quality issues, and support environment management for production readiness

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• 8+ years of data engineering experience with expertise in enterprise ETL/ELT architecture and pipeline design
• Expert-level SQL proficiency in IBM DB2 and SQL Server, including complex schema design and query optimization
• Deep expertise in IBM DataStage, including architecture and performance tuning
• Proven AWS data engineering experience in production environments, including S3, Glue, and Redshift
