Data Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Data Engineer, the full-time role will focus on building secure and reliable data capabilities for a mission-driven platform, involving tasks such as designing ETL/ELT pipelines, onboarding new data sources, and implementing data quality checks, with opportunities for remote work from various locations including Virginia and Maryland.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion from multiple sources
- Implement automated data-quality checks and ensure data lineage and governance throughout the data lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission needs into measurable data products and maintain documentation
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of professional data engineering experience, including pipeline development and operations
- Strong SQL expertise and proficiency in Python, Java, R, or similar programming languages
- Experience with modern data-integration frameworks like Apache Airflow or AWS Glue
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS
