Data Engineer - Database Migration

Job Summary

Supporting the migration of enterprise Oracle environments into Azure SQL, the full-time remote Data Engineer - Database Migration will analyze existing databases, convert PL/SQL logic, and ensure optimized, scalable, and reliable migrated environments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing Oracle schemas, tables, and related database objects to support migration to Azure SQL
• Identify compatibility gaps between Oracle and Azure SQL, proposing remediation approaches
• Perform data validation and quality checks during the migration process

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in relational databases and data engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases and SQL Server/Azure SQL
• Experience migrating schemas, tables, and related database objects
• Advanced knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL) and query optimization
• Experience with data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and migration analysis
